User Manual#
This step-by-step manual will walk you through logging in, accessing dashboards, creating visualizations, and sharing insights efficiently.
Step 1: Log In to DiMEC-LCA#
Before you can start analyzing data, you’ll need to log in:
Start by opening your web browser and navigating to the DiMEC-LCA platform.
You’ll have two login options:
Native Login
Sign in with Keycloak-OAuth
Enter your credentials (email or username and password). If you run into trouble, double-check your credentials or try resetting your password.
If you haven’t created an account yet, refer to the Tool Overview section for contact information.
Step 2: Access Dashboards#
Once you’re logged in, explore the dashboards, where all the key insights are:
Click on the Open Menu button in the top-left corner.
From the left sidebar, find and select Dashboards.
Browse through the available folders and click on a specific dashboard to open and explore its data.
Available Data#
The dashboards provide key insights into Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and Life Cycle Costing (LCC) for four pilot projects:
Polymer
Composite
Glass
Graphite
Step 3: Create Your Own Dashboards#
Follow these steps to visualize your data the way you need it:
On the Dashboards page, click New → New Dashboard.
Next, click Add → Visualization, then select a data source from the following options:
MySQL: Configure the query for database extraction.
Infinity: Change the source to inline if you need to upload a CSV file directly.
Customize how your data is displayed by selecting one of these visualization types:
Graph
Gauge
Table
Heatmap
Apache E-Charts Code
To refine your data presentation, go to the Transform tab and apply modifications such as:
Add field from Calculations (binary operations, sum rows, etc.).
Merge Data (combine multiple queries).
Group By time, category, or status.
Calculate arithmetic for additional insights.
Drag and drop panels to resize or reposition them as needed. Once satisfied with the layout, click Save or Apply.
Step 4: Use Variables for Dynamic Dashboards#
For more interactive dashboard:
Go to Dashboard Settings → Variables.
Click Add Variable, then choose from the following types:
Query
Interval
Custom
Configure the variable.
Save the variable and reference it in panels using ${variable_name}.
Step 6: Customize Your Dashboard Layout#
To enhance the dashboard structure, use rows and columns:
Click Add → Row to create collapsible sections.
Drag and drop panels or rows to adjust the layout.
Click Save to keep your changes.
